The Gentle Discipline of Beginning Again

Returning is a practice
There is no prize for never losing your rhythm. Life will interrupt your plans, change your capacity, and ask you to begin again in ways you did not expect.
Consistency can include returning
We often imagine discipline as a straight line: decide, commit, complete. Real life is more generous and more uneven. Sometimes the most disciplined thing you can do is notice that the old plan no longer fits, and make a smaller one.
Return to the morning walk, the unfinished page, the conversation you meant to have. Do it without the ceremony of self-punishment. You are not starting from zero; you are beginning with what you now know.
Let the next step be enough
Choose one action that would make today feel a little more like your own. Put the notebook on the table. Send the message. Drink the water. Small returns become a life you can trust.
